Thursday's Work Photos
Today Henry & Chloe were blessed to be part of the drywall crew in the afternoon. They should not have completed their job so quickly.....bet they won't do that again.

Hey Kristin, what are you doing laying down on the job?

We really worked Ed & Cobi today. Look at that shirt/sweat. Ed was in his element. He was running the show "screwing up" the ceiling.

Beany got a big kick out of "breaking" drywall all week & was actually pretty good at it, so I decided to graduate her to cutting out the outlets.
Here is a pic of the ceiling going up.

Wonderful Wednesday !
Gordy & Larue high up on ladder & scaffolding. They were finishing up odds & ends on the exterior of Danny's house.
The soffit they put up is made out of cement board. It had to be drilled then nailed. These guys had a tough day.
Danny's house. The girls couldn't wait to see what it was going to look like. It's Pretty !
The guys hustled getting it off the trailer so we could drive the 50 mins back to our "real" job.
Which by the way is starting to take shape...finally. We have 3 ceilings complete & almost 2 rooms of walls...YEAH !

Chloe here. Henry and I spent the day digging ditches and building a platform for the meter reader to be able to read the meter. At some point there will also be a well pump on the platform. Henry declined the offer for me to help in the ditch. Of course, I didn't fight him on that decision. I really made him work today. See - "Pull that wire Henry!" Actually, it was our co-worker Darryl that had him saying,"Whew, you really worked me hard!" Rest well for another day of hard work, Henry!

Terrific Tuesday
Gordy & Larue pictured here putting in porch posts.
That Gordy is one of the hardest working 77 year olds I know. He also has a heart of Gold. We all love our Gordy! Larue is this giant of a guy - 6' 6", who also has this giant tender spirit. It is great getting to know him. Him & Gordy each give 110% on the job, and you can tell they love what they are doing.
Henry & Chloe have been a team this week. They also had an electrician named Darryl from the Tennessee team working with them. They have been trouble shooting some elec problems. They have figured out several problems already and will start building a platform tomorrow so the well pump & Elec meter will be accessable.
Soon Chloe will be able to wire a house on her own. That Henry is a good teacher.

Henry became a GRANDFATHER at 2:00pm today. Keep both mommy & baby (Elizabeth 3-lbs) in your prayers.
Gongrats Henry & Regina !!

Oh....that metal stud drywall job went much easier today with the generator & corded drills. We had "torque"...and lots of noise. We may get this job done after all.
Tonight we had 2 home owners join us for dinner, as well BJ & Michelle Cooper who shared their Katrina story with us once again. Many of you may remember them. They live in a log cabin and some of us visited them on prior trips.
What a story of God's goodness and a couples gratitude to those who have helped them rebuild their home & their lives.

Pics from the Drywall Job
This had to be one of the hardest & most frustrating days I've ever had on a job at Camp Gulfside. This is the 1st job where we had metal studding also. The cordless drills just didn't have enought torque to handle the self taping screws and the guys on this job wore themselves out tring to screw them in over head. We only got a few sheets up for our days labor....AND LABOR THEY DID. These are some pics from the job. Beany & Don knocked out almost all the insulation on the exterior walls...... After Ed had his fill of "screwing up"
the drywall he helped Beany by cutting the insulation for her. That's ok Ed, we all know you are vertically challenged and working over head poses a bit of a problem when we keep taking your step ladder.
Tommorrow we will take the generator & corded drills & attempt this job once again...Pray for Us !
Catching Up On The Blog....
We did not get far from home before we had to change a flat tire. The valve stem was leaking and we had to put the spare tire on....what an ordeal. We did the switch & continued on our long
Gordy, Joan, Larue, Ruby & Kristin worked at Danny Peterson's home. Here are some Pics from their day. Check out Danny's Grapefruit tree.
